Sound & Light: I tailor the sound and light system I bring to the requirements of your
event, based on number of guests, size of room/dance-floor and music requested. If you wish to specify any
aspect of sound and lighting equipment I am happy to discuss this with you. There may be an additional charge
if the requested equipment is outside the scope of what I would consider necessary...
What I aim for when tailoring my packages to your event is a party atmosphere on the dance-floor but both the
sound and light should have relatively little effect on those guests who have chosen to sit and talk. To achieve
this I ensure that both the sound and light are suitable to the type of party you want and the types of music
you have asked for. If you are wanting to recapture The Cirque du Soleil or Ministry of Sound, for example, it
will need to be quoted separately.
Power: In hotels or established venues power isn’t generally a problem (though because of
the industrial appliances in use and the surges and interference they can cause I have various power protection
devices in place for my equipment). If your venue relies on a generator for power (barns and marquees, most often)
there is a great deal of room for error. I prefer to be able to discuss requirements direct with your generator
supplier but, in the simplest terms, two separately fused power-conditioned feeds are required. Furthermore,
large, powered devices like air pumps for bouncy castles, mechanical bulls, even coffee urns (thermostats) must
be on their own fuses if not different generators. If a generator is to be used to supply my power I require
a $500/£200 refundable deposit to cover any damage caused by insufficient or poor quality power supply.

Mileage/Accommodation:
New Zealand:
I am based in Auckland and play anywhere in the toll-free dialling area.
For any events outside of this area I charge mileage at the IRD Banded Rate of 62c per kilometre for the entire
journey (rounded down to the nearest 10kms). This is calculated as being from Central Auckland to the
venue and back, e.g. Auckland to Tauranga Racecourse (200 kms) is charged at $279.00 (including GST), Auckland
to Hamilton Gardens (120 kms) is charged at $166.50 (including GST).
For events more than 100km from Central Auckland (or more than 50 km with a finish time later than 1am)
appropriate accommodation will need to be organised or will be charged for (price subject to availability).
Where an overnight stay is required there is a charge of $112.50 (including GST) to cover time and
incidentals related to an overnight stay.
Driving between venue and accommodation (if applicable) or related travel once in the vicinity of the venue
is not charged for. |
United Kingdom:
I am based near Bath and play anywhere in the 01225 dialling area.
For any events outside of this area I charge mileage at the HMRC rate of 40p/mile for the entire journey
(rounded down to the nearest 5 miles). Distance is calculated from Bath using the AA route-planner
(www.theaa.com).
For events more than 60 miles from Central Bath (or more than 30 miles with a finish time 1am or after)
appropriate accommodation will need to be organised or will be charged for (price subject to availability).
Where an overnight stay is required there is a charge of £40 to cover time and incidentals related
to an overnight stay.
Driving between venue and accommodation (if applicable) or related travel once in the vicinity of the venue
is not charged for. |
