Your Wedding - everything you dream of...

The romantic fantasy of your wedding disco is that all of your favourite songs will be played and all of your guests will dance the night away. It is possible that all of your favourite songs will keep people partying through the night, but in all likelihood your guests will want some of their favourite songs played, too. Many will want a chance to talk. Ultimately it is your friends and family and their enjoyment of the evening that help make your wedding day or civil celebration special.

Here is what DJ Alan Duval, The Music Man, will do for your reception:

  • Give you as much input into the play list as you want – you may want to dictate every song that is played (though I will always recommend having a ‘Plan B’ just in case things aren’t going as you’d hoped), or you can make a few requests and leave the rest to me.

  • Co-ordinate DJ requirements with the venue/caterer/marquee & generator supplier directly.

  • Set-up with the right DJ equipment and disco lights for the venue/number of guests, and complete this at least 45 minutes prior to your guests’ arrival, location permitting.

  • Arrive and be ready to start DJing at least 30 minutes before the agreed time – appropriately dressed (most often a black shirt and tie or black suit and no tie), unless you have another preference.

  • On the night the volume will be at an appropriate level – typically - loud enough to create a party atmosphere on the dance-floor, but at conversation volume for most of the seated guests.

  • Once I start DJing I don’t stop for a break, let alone a smoke break (I don’t smoke), and I only drink water unless invited to do otherwise, and then in moderation.
